Q. In light of the Summer Solstice. Also known as Midsummer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?
My favorite story that revolves around the fae would have to be Tithe by Holly Black. I read it back in middle school and it was the first novel (not including fairy tales) I read that didn't portray fairies as these cute things with wings!
How about you?
Aw, I've heard a lot of good things about Holly Black, in general. I've never heard of that particular book, but I'll definitely have to check it out! Happy Friday!! Here's my post: http://carycheyennexo.blogspot.com/2011/06/follow-friday-4.html
ReplyDeleteI have not read anything by Holly Black but I have heard she is a greater writer. I may pick up some of her titles soon. Great post. Old follower just spreading some FF love :-)

I haven't read Holly Blacks fae series yet, but I love her other books so I should check it out. Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah I loved that book too! I keep finding authors/books that I love and forgot to list, lol.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Ooh I remember reading that one too! Might have been my first as well that shows that faeries can be "bad" or at least not all sparkles and rainbows!

I read Tithe in high school, and I think it was also the first thing I'd read with non-cute fairies! Haha. It was good and I do mean to read the rest of the series some day!
ReplyDeleteI love fairy tales in general, so I couldn't pick a favorite!
Hi, new follower from the Follow Friday blog hop! Tithe looks like a good book, and I'll have to get it and read it soon! Happy Friday and check out my Follow Friday post on my blog!

I still haven't read Tithe or its sequels. I want to so badly, though. I need an eighth day that I can devote completely to reading and nothing else, lol.

Hopping through. I haven't read Tithe yet but I loved White Cat and Red Glove. I want to read more by Holly.

I'm going to go with the Fever series by Moning, simply because I'm reading the first book right now and it's pretty good so far.
ReplyDeleteHi - New Follower
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of that author, at least not that I remember. Btw, I recently read Legacy and liked it.
