FOLLOW FRIDAY: #6

Q. Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?

I would have to agree with Parajunkee on this one and say YA Dystopians. I love The Hunger Games (which I'm reading right now) but the real clincher was when I read Divergent. That book is amazing, beautiful, and heartbreaking. I loved every second of it.

How about you? What's your favorite genre?

I just recently read the Hunger Games and loved them, I haven't yet read Divergent but am thinking its one that needs to be added to the TBR list.

  6. I love dystopian too, but I chose fantasy as my favorite. Sometimes I think there are just too many to pick as a favorite.

  8. There are some pretty brilliant YA dystopians these days. I love them too!

I can't say what my favorite genre is. I've always been a fantasy girl, but I've read very few YA fantasies and YA is mostly what I'm reading now.

  11. I actually haven't been able to get into the Dystopian genre really. Haven't even read the Hunger Games, I'm more of a paranormal reader!

  12. I guess we are living in a Dystopian an paranormal kinda world, that is what most of my hop visits have selected. it kind of remind me of cigarettes and coke. I've seen Hunger games so much im so,so,so close to purchasing it. happy reading to you.

  13. I love mainstream fiction, I am starting to like dystopian novels like Hunger Games, Catching Fire didn't catch my fire, so hopefully Mockingjay won't disappoint. Will start Divergent in about a week, I'm glad you said it's good, so I know it should be okay as well.

  16. Oh man. How do you determine your fav book in your genre. That's so hard. Nice blog. New follower. Have a nice weekend.

  17. I like both of those books you listed. It is too difficult to narrow down to just one genre.

  18. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I loved Ann Rinaldi when I was younger ... I remember I was always that dorky kid who didn't want to read the newest girly novel, I was the one carrying around a historical fiction book about the Salem Witch Trials! If you are looking to get back in HF, then I would check out Michelle Moran. I just read her Madame Tussaud book a few months ago and LOVED it! Great writer and interesting time period! And I have The Hunger Games on my wishlist ... I will get to them eventually!

  24. Thanks for stopping by!

Yeah, I don't know what it is that college does to you, but reading just is not the same after it. And that was my problem with romance as well, it just can't hold my attention or give me the thrill that it used to. On the other hand, this introduced to me to whole new world with YA!
